We are nearing the end of March now but it seems as if winter has been dragging its boots forever. There is hope now that the second round of snow is melting away, the blossom on trees is blooming and newborn lambs are beginning to dot countryside fields. With spring around the corner, I’ll be looking for some new treats for a post-winter pick-me-up to hurry along the new season and melt away the rest of the cold.
Fragrance
A new season calls for a fresh new scent and I’ve had my eye on a new Jo Malone fragrance to add to my collection. Last year for my birthday, I received the beautiful Basil & Neroli cologne from my love and it could not have been a more thoughtful surprise. I’d love to try the Nectarine Blossom & Honey next, which sounds sweet and delicate for spring. For a more decadent treat, Clive Christian have a Perfume gift set for her that would make a very sumptuous present.
Teacup
A dainty, floral teacup is the ideal accompaniment to a delicious loose leaf tea. A few years ago, I bought this beautiful Wedgwood teacup and saucer for my mum for her birthday and ever since then, I’ve been searching for the perfect one for myself. There’s just something about sitting down with a cup of tea in your very own pretty teacup.
Book
I’ve heard so much about Gail Honeyman’s debut novel Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine that I’m convinced this would be a lovely spring read for slow mornings at home. For the past year or so, my bookshelf has been full of cosy crime by Agatha Christie and the like so this will be a fresh new addition to change things up a little.
Jewellery
For some reason, I always forget about jewellery when getting dressed. Aside from my nose ring, I don’t really wear any on a daily basis but I would love to add something delicate and dainty to elevate my simple outfits. I’ve been after a pair of tiny silver hoops that just touch the lobe but have struggled to actually find them anywhere. Etsy is always my go-to for jewellery browsing but if anyone has any other suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
Candle
No home ready for spring would be complete without a pretty candle. Similarly to perfume, I’m looking for something that reminds me of a meadow on a warm spring day to bring a little of the new season indoors. Favourites in the past have included an amethyst one from Gemporia, a chai latte by Luna’s Locket and my trusty chocolate cappuccino from Yankee Candle but I’d love to find a new brand to try.

When your everyday life can be a little bland at times, little treats like this can make all the difference. While I’m not particularly materialistic, I do love to treat myself to pretty things like this every now and then.
What are some of the things you are planning to treat yourself to for spring?

I love the idea of Spring Treats. I’m nearly at the end of my book so this looks like it could be a great read to try next. Have you started it yet? As for Jewellery, I’m loving Astrid & Miyu at the moment. I included some of their jewellery in one of my latest blog posts http://bit.ly/2GKB1M9 . I haven’t bought any candles recently but I was so impressed with a Baylis & Harding one previously. I think this Pink Gin Fizz one sounds perfect for spring although I haven’t tried this one yet. http://amzn.to/2FUsODL xx
Oooh which book are you reading currently? I haven’t yet, no! Ahhh that’s fab – I will make sure to check it out, thank you! And thank you for the candle recommendations! I always find they’re quite tricky to buy as I’m super fussy with scents haha!

Im reading After You by Jojo Moyes and it’s really good. Not as good as the first book but still a good read! Aww you’re welcome about the suggestions. Hope they are useful! xxx
Millie, it’s a real treat to be writing this. I couldn’t agree more on a lovely Spring teacup – I have a penchant for porcelain, so, my collection grows and grows… It’s my mum’s 50th birthday this weekend and I’m treating her to a mother-daughter cream tea. Have managed to combine a teacup and candle for one of her presents. Thanking the stars for Not On The Highstreet at the moment! Every season definitely needs it’s treats. It’s fabulous that you’re an Agatha Christie fan! Will you be watching ‘Ordeal By Innocence’? I’ll be holidaying in the Lakes as we near the summer, so, shall be on the lookout for lambs and the like. This was a lovely read to start my day. Very much missing Skopelos at the moment (http://bit.ly/2uiv4DN), it’s lovely to be blogging again. xxx
Love the idea of spring treats! I usually have some spring resolutions, related with my plans for the season. But treats sound really good too, now I must think about something for myself 🙂
Little treats really do make all the difference! I am also such a fan of having my own personal teacup – just makes it so much cosier when you’re about to sit down and have a cup of tea. Some spring treats that I like are walks in the April sun, watching the melting snow, hot chocolates and switching out the old, heavy winter boots with some new and bright spring/summer shoes!
xx, Ingrid.
They do, don’t they! Those sounds really lovely, especially changing winter shoes to spring ones!
