When the evenings are blustery and cold, settling down in front of the telly seems like a much more appealing option than leaving the house. For me, the months of October and November are a time to recuperate and make the most of staying at home. And the first appearance of orange leaves marks that magical time for an annual rewatch of Gilmore Girls, possibly the most autumnal show ever made. The warming feeling of seeing Stars Hollow and its eclectic mix of characters equates to a cup of soothing cinnamon tea. No matter what the season on screen is, it manages to encapsulate a sense of comfort and cosiness with each episode. As lovely as evenings at the pub are, a night in by the fire with my favourite show is likely to win each time. Staying in can be sociable too, however, and hosting a cosy Gilmore Girls night might just be the perfect alternative to an evening out with friends. Along with one of the Oled televisions Panasonic, here are some essentials for hosting the perfect Gilmore Girls night in this autumn.
Nothing sets a cosy atmosphere like the glow of scented candles. My favourites for autumn are the ones that smell good enough to consume; chai latte, chocolate, coffee are the first that come to mind.
Make it decaf
While most of are not immune to the effects of caffeine, it simply wouldn’t be a Gilmore Girls night without Lorelai and Rory’s favourite drink. Decaf is probably the more sensible option…
Treats, treats, treats
A close-to-unlimited supply of popcorn, homemade biscuits, Ben & Jerry’s and anything in between is pretty much a necessity. Baking could even be a part of the evening, Sookie-style.
Throws and cushions
A few throws and cushions will instantly add some cosiness. Ask your guests to bring some to scatter over the floor and have a sleepover reminiscent from days in school.
What’s your idea of an idyllic night in with friends?
