With what feels like September’s unannounced arrival, it’s all too easy to forget we still have 21 glorious days of summer left. I strangely enjoy this time between seasons: summer no longer in its ripeness, autumn still a distance away.
One of the most important aspects of slowing down for me was finally learning how to take the time to appreciate each season for its beauty: every beginning, middle and end to its full extent.
It feels soothing to move in time with nature. I feel no rush for autumnal candles yet, nor do I long for crunchy leaves beneath my feet. All of this will come with time. For now, I’m happy with sunny days reaching the twenties, the occasional call for a cosy jumper, and a little extra time to prepare for the upcoming season and the changes it’ll bring.
