The first month of the year has always been viewed as a miserable one, the month after all the jolliness and festivities of December are over and it’s back to reality. But if the festive period brings some of us anything but joy, January can be a soothing relief.
A chance to start over. Break bad habits and find new hobbies. Try something new each week, like a podcast, journalling or a different book genre.
It’s also the perfect month to slow down and take care of our bodies. I’ve joined the gym, cut out alcohol, and aim to spend more time outdoors, like I did during the first two lockdowns. For the first time in a long time, I feel excited and motivated.
